Abstract

Women with gynecologic cancer and their spouses suffer from sexual dysfunction. Sexual functioning in women with gynecologic cancer and it¡¯s related factors have been identified through literature review in order to provide strategies in developing interventions. Physical factors incliding physical symptoms, tumor stage, time since last treatment, and couple¡¯s age and psytmosocial factors incliding body image, sexual attitude, sexual information, depression, and marital intimacy have been identified as related factors to sexual functioning in women with gynecologic cancer. It has been identified that these physical and psychosocial factors have been influencing to women¡¯s sexual functioning interdependently. Many authors have emphasized the importance of sexual counseling and education program considering women¡¯s physical and psychosocial factors as interrelational factors.
